Burgundy offers a cycle path network ofVéloroutesandVoies Verteswhich is quite unique in France: five major routes (VoieVerte in Southern Burgundy, the Canal du Centre, the Canal du Nivernais, the Canal de Bourgogne and the Voie des Vignes) to enjoy the "Cycle Tour of Burgundy" at your own pace. 

You may thus take advantage of theVéloroutesandVoiesVertescovering 800 km and covering a regional loop, along Burgundy's canal paths, trails amidst the vineyards and along abandoned railway tracks, with access to appropriate services.

5 routes constitute the regional loop:

- The Canal du Centre (171 km) from Saône-et-Loire to the Loire

- The Canal du Nivernais (175 km) from Decize to Auxerre

- The Canal de Bourgogne (212 km) from Migennes to Dijon

- The Voie des Vignes (80 km), from Dijon to Chalon-sur-Saône

- The Southern Burgundy loop (150 km) from Chalon-sur-Saône to Mâcon there and back via the Voie Verte that takes the vineyard trails and from Mâcon to Tournus, via the Voie Bleue (30 km).

With Véli-Bourgogne, you can benefit from a bike hire service along the Canal de Bourgogne. More than 250 bikes are available and there are 8 reception centres next to railway stations so that you can rent bikes from your departure point and return them at your chosen destination. You can for example travel by train to Tonnerre, hire bikes to ride along the Canal de Bourgogne, return your bikes at Montbard and come back by train.
